Gas bumming you out? Electric Vehicle Assn Meeting Saturday June 7th
Did you know that LG hosts the San Francisco Electric Vehicle Association meetings the first Saturday of every month? And did you know that yet another one of these inspiring meetings is this Saturday, June 7th?
If you are interested in burning less gas or no gas at all, consider attending this meeting! Since we started, attendance has risen to over 40 people per event. 
Meet others who know and care about electric vehicles. Touch and test drive electric vehicles on the road now, from Chevrolet’s S10 stock electric pickup (with an EV1 motor!) to our own plug-in hybrid Prius. We also have a Geo Metro converted to electric in the shop. Toyota’s RAV4 EV, electric bikes and scooters, the super-fast Tango—all of these phenomenal vehicles so often hidden from public view—are yours to explore. More important are the people behind them. We are in the midst of a profound and timely revolution in transportation. JOIN US!

Friends of the Urban Forest SOMA Planting This Saturday

Meet at Luscious Garage
Schedule:
8:00 am: Everyone has signed in, had their coffee and is ready to work! First jobs are to drive trucks, distribute trees and supplies, and assemble light hardware.
9:00 am: Volunteers arrive.
9:15 am: Friends of the Urban Forest hold a planting demonstration.
9:30 am: The planting manager will break neighbors into small groups, each supervised by a trained volunteer planting leader. Now we start planting trees.
12:30 pm: Time to celebrate all your hard work! We return to Luscious Garage for the pot luck.

Electric Vehicle Meeting SATURDAY
Please join us at our first meeting of 2008 on Sat., Jan. 5 from 11 am to 1 pm here at the shop.
We’ll have a ZENN neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) on hand from the new Green Motors dealer in Berkeley.
Plus, one of our members who lives in Noe Valley will bring her GEM NEV and talk about the joys and challenges of driving an NEV in San Francisco.
At our February meeting, we’ll showcase a competing NEV from Miles Automotive, so come this Sat. and in Feb. and you’ll be able to compare the GEM, Zenn, and Miles NEVs. (Hint: They’re quite different!)
NEVs are some of the few electric vehicles that you can buy today. They’re worth seeing.
Plus we’ll talk about what’s ahead in 2008 and give an update on the California Air Resources Board’s revision of the Zero Emission Vehicle Program.
